6 months old? That'll get you sweet potatoes.

On December 1, Viv entered the solid food world sloppily and successfully. Well, mostly successfully. Since the tubers, we've moved on to peas, carrots, and rice cereal. Next stop - poi.

First Thanksgiving

Viv wasn't quite ready for solids, but we had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner over at the Scotts. Fun and festive as always, with a lot more infant foot traffic this year!

Then we spent the rest of the weekend enjoying the Pineapple Isle (aka Lanai). Very quaint and beautiful, only 18 miles wide and a population of just a few thousand. . . Viv felt right at home.

Our Amazing Little Lady

Vivian Lani Dyke joined us at 7:54 p.m. Hawaiian Time on June 1, 2012. She weighed in at 8 lbs and stretched out to a gangly 19.25 in long and it's been a whirlwind since then.

We've gone through a long list of firsts - car ride, diaper change, bath, feeding, fussing, etc. - en route to becoming (hopefully) full-fledged parents.

Viv's also had a pretty eventful first five months - getting to meet her family and friends in Hawaii and on the mainland; a road trip through the northwest; a hop over to the Big Island; a trip to the midwest; her first Halloween; and now she's got her own blog!
